Back From The Cave

What’s up? I’m back

I haven’t posted on this blog for quite a while now, even my mom criticized me for it, but I’ve been busy doing other stuff. I’ve had my first ‘good’ month, made around 350$ in November, mostly doing Facebook Ads. I realized that I should take advantage of what I got, which is the ability to speak multiple languages. The international market is huge and there is a lot of untapped potential out there.

I’ve been working at my dads firm for a bit now and I might redo their site and do the SEO for them once their new product comes out. If any of you guys have experience doing SEO for local businesses and what to charge for it please let me know.

On another note I recently discovered that one of the big problems in this whole affiliate industry that there are so many ways to get sidetracked. You can spend an afternoon on wickedfire reading stupid posts that don’t make you any money whatsoever. Another problem as a newbie is that there are so many different ways to make money. You could do local directories, you could do facebook ads, you could do adwords (yeah right ), you could do adsense sites, etc. etc.

It is very easy to start one thing and if it doesn’t work out right from the start go to the next thing. The reason for that is basicallly ‘Magic Pill’-Thinking, you believe that if you found the right formula you’d be rich over night. Last month thaught me though that it basically comes down to work. Launch campaigns and test them. If you launch 10 campaigns a day you are bound to find a winner. So I guess what I’m trying to say I try to stop looking for short cuts and do the work instead.

I also recently bought uBot too and I think it’s a great tool, helps me automate a lot of stuff. I think I will post a few simple tutorials on this blog, like a Twitter Comment Bot or something like that. I still want to learn a ‘real’ programming lanuage like Python or PHP, guess I could read a book about Python over Christmas.

Btw. I still need to buy Christmas presents. Luckily I like going to malls full of people trying to get their christmas gifts… NOT.

A Quick Update

So,

what has happened in the last few weeks/months? I’ve been to Vegas for 12 days (where I attended the RSD summit and helped out on bootcamps) which was a very intense experience. One that taught me a lot about myself. It’s hard to describe what exactly I learned but I know that I’ve learned quite a bit.

I met some very cool people, made new friends and saw old ones again. I enjoyed hanging out with the rest of the RSD crew. It felt like I’ve found my people. People that are like-minded and very cool and a lot of fun. I’m kinda sad that almost everybody lives in the United States of America and not many in Europe, but I guess that just means that I’ll be traveling a lot in my life.

I’ve spent some time in LA before I went to Vegas and it reminded me just how much I enjoy being in that city. It truly feels like a place where I could live for a few years, if not forever.

I’ve taken a hit in my Internet Marketing endeavors but I’m determined to bounce back and make some serious cash . Also one of the RSD guys I’ve met is doing some serious work and makes quite a bit of money.

Being back in Zurich is quite interesting, over this past half a year a lot of stuff has happened in my life and I don’t feel that it is going to stop anytime soon, I guess that’s what being grown up is all about. I’ll see what the future brings.

That’s it for now, just kinda stream of consciousness post I know but what the heck ..

P.S.: I’m not sure if I should continue writing in English or if I should start writing in German?!

New Design and AdSense

As all of you can see I have a new design, it’s not final but I like it better then the old one. One thing that I think is somewhat funny is that all those guys doing WordPress themes always put a ton of their affiliate pages in there. I wouldn’t mind a backlink to their site but a thousand links to an online pharmacy? Come on!

I also signed up for Google AdSense and got approved so I guess I can start throwing AdSense on my blogs I’m not sure if I want to put it here on my personal blog and where I want to put it. Well, I’m thinking about putting the leader board that Google provides in the upper right corner. It would look something like this:

Any input on the matter is greatly appreciated since I’ve never used AdSense before.

On another note my german sites start picking up seo traffic which is great. I think I’ve been a fool of not taking advantage of my german skills and only focusing on the American market, when it’s so much easier to rank for ultra competitive terms, also I guess the keywords are going to be cheaper.

How to promote E-mail submits by Wotogepa

So after I finished my Linkwheel I felt kinda lost and not really knowing what to do next apart from building backlinks to my sites, which I’m still doing, but SEO is so slow (haha rhyme, rhyme) and it takes a while to see results, but luckily I got an email from Wotogepa about promoting E-mail submits on Adbrite. They sent me two youtube videos in which PPC Coach tells you exactly how to do it.

So here they are for you to watch:

An update..

So,

I reinstalled Windows on my roommates laptop today. Was a pain in the ass! I love my MacBook Air . Anyways because Windows was taking forever to install I was able to work while installing that shit. I added some sites to my debt network. Hopefully, they start getting up in the rankings and I will be able to start earning some cash, seo is different from PPC but I almost think it’s more fun, well and google kinda banned one of my accounts. No fun!

On a personal note had an ex-student of mine stay at my place this weekend was a lot of fun and he is just a cool guy to hang out with. So if you ever go to Innsbruck, Austria beware of Alex, he is probably going to steal your girl .

Also I went to take my photo taken for my new/old passport so I’ll be able to go to Vegas to the RSD summit, it’s going to be glorious. I’m going to stay with a buddy from Stockholm, oh I can’t wait.

That’s all so far, going to build a few backlinks now to my new sites and see what happens.

What happend so far?

Okay,

here are the stats for one week of doing PPC: I’ve spent 143.24 CHF last week, which is about 130 US$ and I’ve made 24.47 US$ back in affiliate commissions. Which sets me at a loss of around 105 Bucks. That may look terrible but the good news is that I actually made a profit of 1$ from yesterday to today.

I’ve learned a lot so I look at it as an investment rather then a loss. I’m pretty confident that I am able to set up a campaign and tweak it. The main problem at the moment is finding a good poll that brings in enough traffic while providing a low CPC rate. Also, scrubbing is one thing that I need be aware of. I will try to find good networks that I can do business with, looking at azoogle and convert2media at the moment, as they have been recommended by other people on PPC-Coach.

So what I need to do this week is: Get the money my roommates owe me, Buy groceries, Get a haircut, Write my Essay on Habermas, Watch the blueprint, Launch at least 5 new PPC-Campaigns, Clean my room and vacuum it, Write a post on my RSD-Thread about my current place and new goals with girls, Iron my clothes, Apply and call new CPA networks, Call AmEx.

So it looks like I have a week full of work ahead of me, which excites me! That’s it for now..

it’s a sunny Wednesday and I feel ecstatic. I’ve been up all night setting up my first PPC Campaign, after about 12 hours or so I was ready and launched it somewhere around 0200 AM.And Today around 0300 PM I made my first sale! Naturally I took a screenshot of all the glory:

As you can see I made a whopping $1.15! May not be much for the moment but once I get the hang of it the number will more be around 1000$. So look out!
